Santos has won court approval to seek access to some of the key documents it wants to examine as it seeks to uncover who funded the Environmental Defenders Office’s failed case against the Barossa gas project in the Timor Sea.

In a ruling on Thursday, Justice Natalie Charlesworth said Santos could issue subpoenas, with conditions attached, to the EDO as well as to two key expert witnesses the office relied on in the case.
