Santos secures more approvals on Narrabri gas

Santos’ contentious Narrabri gas project in NSW has quietly been given fresh impetus by the state government under Premier Dominic Perrottet, receiving approvals for the last of its site management plans and assurances about a smoother pathway towards securing pipeline approvals.

A meeting last Thursday between the premier and Santos CEO Kevin Gallagher, prompted by Mr Perrottet’s new energy adviser, former Snowy Hydro boss Paul Broad, is understood to have allowed Mr Perrottet to enunciate the government’s support for additional gas to be developed for the state.
