Several Santos directors increased their stakes in the company in the weeks before the oil and gas giant received its first takeover offer from a consortium led by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company earlier this year.
Santos chairman Keith Spence and board directors Vickki McFadden, Michael Utsler and Janine McArdle all bought shares in Santos in the week starting March 10, according to ASX filings. The purchases were made during a period when directors are allowed to buy or sell shares.
