SA says NSW go-slow on Narrabri gas ‘national disgrace’

Australia risks turning away foreign investors if the Albanese government introduces a gas price cap to lower power bills or resorts to other market intervention, according to former West Australian Labor treasurer Ben Wyatt, who spoke out as an energy war intensifies between the states.

South Australian Energy Minister Tom Koutsantonis on Friday called NSW a “national disgrace” for dragging its feet on approving the Narrabri gas project in an interview with AFR Weekend in which he opposed a national coal and gas reserve and other forms of intervention to drive down prices.
