Problems around new transmission means Australia may fall short of its 2030 targets, but political will, capital and renewable resources remain strong drivers for the transition.

Only the most optimistic – or those whose jobs depend on it – still insist Australia can reach its 2030 climate targets.

It’s a turnaround from 12 months ago, when to suggest that the 82 per cent renewables and 43 per cent emissions reduction targets were out of reach was almost regarded as heresy.
