Contingency plans for power grid to keep the lights on
Federal Energy Minister Angus Taylor says energy regulators and big power companies will have to put in place contingency plans to ensure the electricity grid does not fail during the coronavirus pandemic.
While there are growing fears about the impact of the pandemic on the economy, federal and state ministers will use Friday's Council of Australian Governments energy meeting to make sure there are back-up staffing arrangements to ensure the lights do not go out over the next six months.
