Katter’s relative’s firm got $12m, others got $22k

A company owned by Queensland MP Bob Katter’s relatives was awarded a $12 million grant by the Industry Department in the same round in which most other projects received $22,000.

CopperString 2.0, a business that wants to construct an 1100-kilometre power line across northern Queensland, was approved for the grant by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources on February 22, according to public filings.
