Energy regulator investigates potentially illegal generator behaviour

Australian Energy Regulator chairwoman Clare Savage has put energy generators on notice as the watchdog investigates possible illegal behaviour in the lead-up to the suspension of the wholesale electricity market in June.

As industry, politicians and consumers deal with ongoing high electricity and gas prices, Ms Savage warned the road to net zero emissions by 2050 would be “lumpy”, but hoped changes to the grid would help smooth the transition.
