CS Energy looks to buy remaining stake in Callide C

State-owned energy company CS Energy is considering buying out the remaining stake in the Callide C coal-fired power station after its joint venture partner, Genuity Group, went into voluntary administration on Friday.

The move is seen as a way to secure the long-term future of the power station which has been beset with problems since a mysterious explosion at its C4 unit caused havoc on Queensland’s power grid in May 2021.
