The boss of Australia’s largest brickmaking company, Brickworks, says the nation needs a 25-year energy plan clearly laid out to ensure a smooth and consistent transition that will enable the economy to keep growing and give manufacturers more certainty.

Lindsay Partridge said there had been too much talking and not enough doing for the past 12 years as policymakers were caught up in short-term political minefields and did not take a practical approach.
