AGL in fresh gas hunt after Crib Point LNG blocked

AGL Energy faces a hunt for new gas supply sources after the Victorian government skewered its plan to build a $250 million LNG import terminal on the Mornington Peninsula in the wake of a sustained community campaign against the development.

AGL, which estimates it has committed about $130 million on the Crib Point project to date, said it was “considering its position” on the minister’s ruling, which federal Energy Minister Angus Taylor’s office said left Victoria vulnerable to a shortage.
