AGL Energy chief executive Graeme Hunt accused Mike Cannon-Brookes’ Grok Ventures of making “false claims” about the energy giant as the tech billionaire seeks to torpedo the company’s proposed split.

Mr Hunt’s rebuttal of the assertions being made by Grok’s ‘Keep it together Australia’ campaign against the demerger further fires up the friction over the future of the country’s biggest electricity generator just as a last-minute legal hitch threatened to hold up the release of the detailed information on the restructuring.
