Reports of an impending $1 billion Indian investment in a private company hunting for oil off Sydney may be a wee bit fanciful.

The Economic Times of India is reporting that a consortium of Indian state-run energy firms led by Oil and Natural Gas Corp is in talks to acquire 25 per cent of Australia’s Advent Energy for around $1 billion.
