Karoon Gas Australia said its highly anticipated Kronos exploration well had hit indications of gas. The well, designed as a follow-up to its earlier Poseidon discovery, is designed to test gas flow rates of the Poseidon field.

Tiger Airways has confirmed it will open a third base, at Avalon Airport in Victoria, later this year. It will also increase its Australian fleet with two new A320 aircraft, taking its total number of aircraft in Australia to 11. Avalon Airport will expand its facilities to cater for the additional flights.
