Mindax finds uranium
Junior gold explorer Mindax said yesterday it had discovered uranium during an airborne survey of its Maynard Hills tenements in outback Western Australia. The survey indicated a significant uranium channel associated with the Noondie lake system and ground exploration would begin as soon as possible, it said. Mindax is also drilling a number of gold anomalies on its Maynard Hills tenements, near Troy Resources NL's new Lords goldmine near Sandstone. Uranium miners produce an annual 46,000 tonnes of uranium oxide but the world's power stations need an estimated 79,000 tonnes. AAP
