It’s rare to see the prudential regulator sharing a stage with two of Australia’s leading bank chief executives.

So the body language was telling when Australian Prudential Regulation Authority chairman John Laker told The AustralianFinancial Review and Macquarie Future Forum yesterday that the biggest banks would be required to hold more capital due to a direction from the G20 last year.
