US consumers are freaking out. Australian investors should worry

The hunt for signs of a coming US recession has taken to the skies.

Macroeconomics firm Pantheon has dug into the data about air travel and found some disturbing signs. Growth in passenger numbers in the US plunged to zero last month, compared with about 2.7 per cent in January. So far this month, the growth has continued to flat line.
