Incitec Pivot investors will cheer a big cash bid for their Australian fertilisers business all the way to the bank, but you have to wonder whether anyone’s stopped to consider whether it is of national significance.
Incitec Pivot’s fertilisers business is the biggest fertiliser manufacturer and distributor in Australia, with about 50 per cent manufacturing and distribution market share in the agriculture-heavy eastern Australian states.
