How Orica snared a Ferrari of a factory

Alberto Calderon's two-year plan to buy a high-tech factory in a tiny Peruvian town has come to fruition. 

Orica chief executive Alberto Calderon sounds positively giddy with his $302 million acquisition of Exsa, Peru’s leading manufacturer.

While Peru is apparently Latin America’s fastest-growing market – compound annual growth is tipped to run at more than 4 per cent a year between now and 20205 – the real jewel in this deal is a factory in the city of Lurin, population 90,000.
