GE Healthcare leaves the mothership

Chanticleer is Australia's pre-eminent business column.

The break-up of General Electric into three separate entities marks a turning point in the history of the 130-year-old company and an opportunity for investors to cut through the noise typically associated with conglomerates.

GE, which was founded by Thomas Edison in 1892, is spinning off GE Aerospace, GE Healthcare and a portfolio of energy businesses under the umbrella of GE Vernova.
