‘Fink’ deflects Crown’s plea for mercy

Never say that Ray Finkelstein, QC, the man who holds the fate of Crown Resorts’ Melbourne casino licence in his hands, doesn’t have the common touch.

As technical issues disrupted hearings of the Victorian royal commission into Crown for a second time on Tuesday morning, the commissioner neatly summarised the feelings of those watching the live stream with an aside caught clearly on the hearing room microphones.
