Crown board facing inquiry reckoning
The board of Crown faces a grilling at the casino inquiry this week, when their contribution to the group's governance and risk management failings will be probed.
James Packer’s evidence was always going to be the high point of the NSW casino inquiry. But for the minority shareholders who account for 64 per cent of Crown Resorts' share register, this week might prove equally illuminating.
The grilling of Crown’s independent directors will probably brutally expose a board that, from what we’ve seen so far, appears to have contributed to major failings in governance, transparency and particularly risk management.
