Boral’s surplus capital mystery for shareholders
Now that Kerry Stokes owns the building products group, he controls the purse strings on surplus capital. The question is, will he be generous to minorities?
Boral shareholders who stuck with the company in the face of the Stokes family takeover have been left wondering how much of Boral’s balance sheet largesse will come their way.
The company has $1.35 billion in liquidity on its balance sheet, and it is about to sell its fly ash business in the United States for about $US1 billion ($1.4 billion).
