BHP on eve of company-shaking shift
BHP’s fat dividend will be a highlight of Tuesday’s annual result. But CEO Mike Henry might also make his biggest strategic move, getting out of petroleum and into potash.
When BHP chief executive Mike Henry delivers the resources giant’s full-year results on Tuesday evening, he will bring much more than just a giant dividend for investors to chew over.
Henry looks set to make the most significant change to BHP’s corporate strategy in at least six years, when predecessor Andrew Mackenzie announced the demerger of a suite of unwanted assets that became South32 in 2014.
