Australia’s great CEO reshuffle isn’t slowing down

A growing number of ASX 200 CEOs have headed for the exit in the past two years. Shareholder activism and greater public scrutiny may help explain why.

The relentless pace of change at the top of Australia’s biggest companies shows no signs of slowing, with Car Group chief executive Cameron McIntyre the latest to announce his departure on Thursday.

The stock of the owner of the Carsales classifieds business fell 3 per cent; take that as a mark of the respect for the 230 per cent return McIntyre delivered during his nine-year stint in charge.
