The ASX’s CHESS project is getting mixed report cards

An independent expert has told the ASX to learn some lessons from its first testing environment for the $250 million CHESS replacement program.

Two independent reports prepared for the ASX by professional services firm EY should serve to remind stakeholders of the complexity involved in updating the technology underpinning ASX’s cash equities clearing and settlement businesses.

The reports put the spotlight on the critical roles being played by two ASX executives: Tim Hogben, who is group executive securities and payments; and Hamish Treleaven, who is chief risk officer.
