Jonathan Shapiro

Westpac trader Col "the Rat" Roden said he complained to the financial markets association of the "blatant manipulation by a small number of investment banks" of the bank bill swap rate, while warning a trader at a rival bank that the benchmark rate was "dangerous", "full flack jacket stuff".

The revelations are part of documents filed in the Federal Court by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, which is suing Westpac for market manipulation.
