Under Commonwealth law, the offence is said to be aggravated if the material depicts a child or children under the age of 14 years.

McCrossin was arrested by the SA Joint Anti Exploitation Team in July, prompting the Department of Education to notify parents at seven schools.

He was granted bail following his arrest that included conditions banning him from engaging in any child-related work or volunteering.

On Monday, Craig Caldicott, for McCrossin, asked the case against his client be adjourned for 14 weeks to take instructions.

Magistrate Simon Smart agreed and remanded McCrossin on continuing bail.
