A woman has been arrested more than a month after she allegedly crashed a car causing it to flip at Millicent.

Police put a call out in a bid to identify the driver of the car that crashed on November 17.

The car rolled on Mount Gambier Road at Millicent around 2pm Tuesday.

Police say the silver Suzuki was travelling south at high speed in a 60km/h zone near the town’s southern limits before the crash.

The car skidded off the road and crashed into the kerb, causing it to become airborne and land on its roof.

The woman who was driving and the sole occupant of the vehicle was witnessed leaving the vehicle and running off.

The vehicle was significantly damaged and towed for forensic testing and analysis.

She was asked to make contact with police to confirm she was not suffering any injuries, and to assist police with investigations.

Following extensive inquiries, and with the assistance from members of the public, police arrested the alleged driver on Monday December 21, more than a month after the incident.

A 41-year-old Millicent woman was charged with driving at a dangerous speed, driving without due care and attention, driving while disqualified and failing to report the collision. She was refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 22.
