An elderly man has died and two others have been injured, including one child, in a crash at Mount Compass.
A Toyota Sedan and a Land Rover 4WD crashed head-on about 5pm on Victor Harbor Road on Saturday evening.
The driver of the Toyota, an 80-year-old Valley View man, died at the scene.
The Land Rover driver, a 48-year-old Kensington Park woman, and her child passenger both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Flinders Medical Centre for treatment.
Victor Harbor Road was closed for several hours between Sand Mine Road and Arthur Roads while Major Crash investigators examined the scene. The road has since been reopened.
The man’s death is the 78th life lost on South Australian roads in 2020, compared to 96 at the same time last year.
It follows the death of a teenager on Friday at Kadina.
The 16-year-old boy was allegedly driving a stolen car when he rolled it in a paddock on Drain Road. His 15-year-old passenger walked one kilometre to raise the alarm.
The 16-year-old boy died at the scene.
