A man has died after his concrete truck rolled off a road and crashed into a tree at Piccadilly, in the Adelaide Hills on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the crash just before 1pm on Spring Gully Rd. Paramedics worked to save the man who was reportedly trapped in the truck, but sadly the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle – a 30-year-old Parafield Gardens man – died at the scene.
The road was closed between Old Carey Gully Rd and Lampert Place until Tuesday morning while Major Crash Investigators examined the crash.
The cement truck also needed to be removed. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
The man’s death is the 69th life lost this year, compared with 86 this time last year.
It follows the death of a young Christie Downs woman who was killed after she was hit by a reversing car at Morphett Vale on Saturday night.
Toni Potter, 37, was at a family gathering on Westmoreland Rd when she was hit by a Kia sedan reversing out of a driveway.
