Man dies and three other people injured in two-car crash at Dublin, north of Adelaide

A man has died and three other people have been taken to hospital with injuries after a two-car crash north of Adelaide overnight. It follows two fatal crashes on Sunday.

A man has died and three other people have been injured following a two-car crash in Dublin, about 61km north of Adelaide, overnight.

Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Port Wakefield Highway and Port Parham Rd just before 6.30pm Wednesday after reports of a car crash.

The driver of one vehicle, a 46-year-old Port Parham man, died at the scene.

The passenger, a 28-year-old woman, was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with injuries considered non-life threatening.

The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a 67-year-old man, and a 58-year-old woman – both from Whyalla Stuart – were taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Port Wakefield Highway was closed for northbound traffic for several hours, while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene.
The man is the 59th life lost on SA roads so far this year, compared to 69 at the same time last year.

It follows two fatal crashes in SA over the weekend.

Police were called to a head-on crash involving a car and a truck on the Sturt Highway on Sunday. A 42-year-old Hewett man who was driving the car died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 33-year-old Broadview man was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

On the same morning, just after 10am, police were called to the scene of a car crash on Strathalbyn Road at Biggs Flat.

An 88-year-old Stirling man crashed into a tree and died at the scene.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene.
