Two people have died in a horror day on the state’s roads, including one man who was killed when a tree branch fell on his car.

The tragic incident happened about 1.30pm on Torrens Valley Road at Mount Pleasant, when a large gum tree fell on the red Holden.

The 63-year-old Hills man, the sole occupant, died at the scene.

Torrens Valley Road is closed between Randell Road and Cricks Mill Road while Major Crash Investigators examine the scene.

It follows a similar tragedy at Stirling in November, where a 59-year-old woman died when a tree fell on her car while driving along Mt Barker Road.

Judy Ditter, of Crafers, was a much-loved wife, mother, and teacher at Seymour College.
