Two men have been arrested after stealing items from a New Port underground car park early this morning.
Just after 2.30am on Saturday, police were called by security to the Karra Cove car park after two men were spotted lurking and trying to open different car door handles.
The Western District patrols surrounded the area which also led them to discover items the trespassers seemingly discarded in a nearby location.
The items found by police were a push bike, power tools and a bag containing hand tools.
Shortly afterwards, police found two men which matched the description provided by security hiding near the mangroves at Port Creek – they were arrested.
The men were searched and found to be in possession of bolt cutters and power tools which were allegedly stolen from one of the parked cars in the garage.
A 25-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both from Semaphore Park, have been charged with being unlawfully on premises, unlawful possession and going equipped.
They will appear in Port Adelaide Magistrate Court on January 15 and are currently on police bail.
