Two children have been arrested after they allegedly broke into an eastern suburbs home and stole a luxury car before taking it on a joy ride through Adelaide’s north.
Police say the duo broke into the Kensington Park home between 2am and 7am Monday, stealing a wallet and the keys to a blue Mercedes Benz wagon which they drove off in.
The stolen car was spotted by a patrol about 9.20am on Baloo St at Ingle Farm, and a police helicopter was deployed to track its movements.
The Mercedes was tracked along Montacute Rd, heading east eventually driving north on Main North Rd continuing into the backstreets of Elizabeth Grove.
The car was spiked on Harvey Rd, but it continued driving on various roads before eventually coming to a stop on Riverbanks Rd at Angle Vale.
Patrols flooded the area and arrested a Greenacres girl, 14, and a Campbelltown boy, 13.
They are expected to be charged with a number of serious offences on Monday afternoon.
