Three teenage boys have been arrested after they allegedly took a prestige BMW stolen from a Parkside home on a joy ride early this morning.
Police patrols were alerted to the black BMW in Salisbury North “due to its manner of driving” just before 3.30am on Sunday.
When they did checks on the vehicle, they found it had been stolen from a Parkside property, in Adelaide’s inner south, earlier in the night.
Police initially lost sight of the car but less than an hour later found the BMW abandoned on St Kilda Rd at Waterloo Corner.
After investigating, police arrested three teenagers at a Salisbury North address.
“A subsequent (search) of the youths recovered keys to the stolen BMW,” police said in a statement.
A North Haven boy, 14, a Salisbury North boy, 16, and a Christie Downs boy, 17, were arrested and are expected to be charged with illegal use.
A decision is yet to be made regarding whether they get police bail.
