Three people, including a woman who is five weeks pregnant, faced court on Wednesday after allegedly launching a horrifying stabbing attack upon a tourist in the CBD last week.

On Wednesday, Jasmain Rose Phillips, 18, Bradley Grogan, 25, and Nicholas Tsardanis faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court charged with aggravated theft using force and aggravated dishonestly taking property.

The three were arrested this week after an alleged attack on a tourist in the CBD last week.

In her application for home detention bail, Ms Phillips, through her lawyer, told the court she was five weeks pregnant, and would require care from within the community to maintain her health.

“We would ask for bail on home detention as a bail of last resort,” Ms Phillips’ lawyer told magistrate Brian Nitschke.

“The allegations are contested, and I am also instructed that she is five weeks pregnant. We say that should she be able to be supported in the community for her pregnancy, she would be better in the community.”

Mr Nitschke refused Ms Phillips bail due to the seriousness of the allegations against her, and fear she may reoffend.

Just before 2am on Thursday, December 28, a 37-year-old man was retrieving a drone charger from his car on Franklin St when he was approached by a group of four people.

SA Police said the four opened his car doors, threatened him and demanded money.

The tourist said while he was in his car, three men and a woman demanded money from him, attacking him while he hid inside his car.

The victim was assisted by a member of the public, who called police.

The young man sustained several injuries during the struggle, including two stab wounds and several cuts across his hands, arms and legs.

He was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-serious injuries.

The young man was travelling through Adelaide from Sydney with his girlfriend, with the couple planning to fly to Uluru.

Bradley Grogan, 25, made no application for bail, and he and Ms Phillips have been remanded in custody to face court again in April.

The court heard that the third person apprehended, 18-year-old Nicholas Tsardanis, was a “secondary offender” and bail would not be opposed by prosecutors.

He was released to his home in Adelaide with strict conditions not to make contact with his co-accuseds, or the victim.

He will also return to court in April.
