Four teenagers wanted after 1.9m-tall nutcracker stolen from Mount Barker Central shopping centre

Just days after Christmas, four teenagers have stolen a highly collectible nutcracker ornament from an Adelaide Hills shopping centre.

A wooden nutcracker soldier has been stolen from a Mount Barker shopping centre – with police looking for four teenagers.

The nutcracker ornament, which measures about 1.9m tall, was taken from Mount Barker Central about 8pm on December 30.

A group of four teenagers were seen removing the nutcracker ornament from the mall and leaving via a travelator up to the carpark.

The four suspects were then seen loading the ornament into a white SUV and before leaving driving away.

The wooden nutcrackers are highly collectible, with some people devoted huge amounts of money.

Online, 2m-tall nutcrackers can sell anywhere from $650 well into the thousands, depending on how well it was constructed, and how old they are.

Police are searching for a cauasian male teenager with short dark hair wearing a red-and-white Chicago Bulls jacket with hood, black pants and black Nike shoes.

They are also searching for three caucasian female teenagers, two with long brown/dark hair – one dressed in all black and the other wearing a mint-coloured long sleeved jacket and black and white Nike.

The four girl had long blonder hair and was wearing a black jacket, black pants with white stripe and black shoes.

Police are asking for anyone who knows where the ornament, or has information that could identify four suspects, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.

It comes as a cross was stolen off a headstone at Berri’s cemetery.

Sometime between December 9 and 30 last year, the metallic/chrome cross was forcibly removed from the headstone at the RL Gambling Road cemetery.

Damaged was caused to the headstone.

The cross was described as about 35cm long with an emblem of Jesus Christ on it.
