A house fire in Adelaide’s inner north which caused $300,000 damage is being treated as suspicious.

The Kilburn home on Albert St was ablaze when firefighters arrived, responding to multiple triple 0 calls at just before 8.30pm on Tuesday.

An MFS spokesperson said six fire trucks with 22 firefighters controlled the blaze

“Four firefighters in breathing apparatus with high pressure lines extinguished the blaze in 20 minutes preventing spread to two houses nearby,” she said.

“The ceiling has fallen in and the house has suffered a significant amount of damage.”

Another home – a duplex on West St in Torrensville – also went up in flames on Tuesday night.

Just after 10pm last night, fire crews responded to multiple triple 0 calls as flames were seen coming from the rear of a home.

An occupant was home with a dog but both escaped without injury.

An MFS spokesperson said fire crews took an hour to extinguish the blaze

“(Crews) saved it from spreading to a duplex next door,” she said.

“Structural damage is estimated at $350,000 and the cause is suspicious.”

Police are also investigating a suspicious car fire at Ascot Park on Wednesday morning.

About 3.15am, police and MFS were alerted to a fire at a home on Wolseley Tce.

When police arrived, they discovered a BMW sedan was alight but was quickly extinguished by fire crews.

The vehicle was completely destroyed by the blaze.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and are asking anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or has information on the fire to contact police.
