The man co-accused of murdering an Aldinga Beach mum he was living with before lighting her remains on fire can now be identified.

Johnathan Parker, 48, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning via video link from custody, where he has been held since his arrest in October last year.

He and his co-accused, Anastasia Marshall, have both been charged over the murder of Anastasia’s ex-wife, Krystal Marshall.

Emergency services were called to an Aldinga Beach home in October last year following reports of a house fire.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and when they checked the home, they found Krystal’s body.

Fire investigators attended the scene to determine the cause of the blaze and following the investigation, Southern District Detectives arrested Mr Parker at the same address and charged him with murder. Police then arrested Anastasia in February.

Prosecution were previously granted a secrecy order on the Mr Parker’s identity and image due to “ongoing inquiries” from detectives, however Magistrate John Wells lifted that order in court on Tuesday.

The court heard prosecutors would be proceeding with one count each of murder, arson of a building and destroying human remains.

During bail applications for his co-accused, the court previously heard Mr Parker had been in a relationship with Anastasia Marshall when the two allegedly murdered Krystal.

It is also understood Mr Parker had been asked to move out of the Aldinga Beach address where he and the two women were living.

Ms Marshall is also yet to formally enter pleas to one count each of murder, arson and destroying human remains to pervert the course of justice.

Both Ms Marshall and Mr Parker will return to court in July.

During a press conference about the incident, Major Crime Superintendent Des Bray said police were not searching for any other people in relation to the matter.

“The allegation will be that together those two people, and those two people alone, are responsible for the death of Krystal,” he said.
