A man has been charged after he allegedly reversed into a woman’s car, before driving down the street, turning around and crashing head-on in to her on purpose during a horrific road rage incident at Seaford.

Police allege the driver of a white ute deliberately revered into a 23-year-old woman’s black SUV at the lights at the intersection of Tiller Drive and Commercial Road at about 10am on Sunday.

The ute then drove through a red light before he did a U-turn and charged towards the black SUV, crashing in to it head-on.

The woman was allegedly on the phone to her father while the incident was unfolding.

She was not injured.

The impact was so forceful it pushed the black SUV into a silver Nissan behind it.

It will also be alleged that the driver left the scene and drove at members of the public standing on the road side.

He then stopped the car and attempted to run away, but was tackled by witnesses to the crash and detained until police arrived.

The 39-year-old Moana man was arrested and returned a positive blood alcohol reading of 0.151, three times the legal limit, and was charged with three counts of acts to endanger life, aggravated due care, and drink-driving.

He also lost his license for a year, was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday.
