Woman in critical condition after a serious head-on collision on Karoonda Hwy southeast of Adelaide
An emergency helicopter has flown a woman to the Flinders Medical Centre following a serious head-on collision east of Adelaide, where a major highway is closed.

Major crash officers are investigating a serious head-on collision on the Karoonda Hwy, east of Adelaide, which left a woman in a critical condition on Friday morning.
Emergency services, including a helicopter travelled to the scene just west of the township of Wynarka, 130km east of Adelaide, after the crash near Kulde Rd about 8.20am.
The female driver of one of the cars was flown to the Flinders Medical Centre with critical injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 63-year-old Mallee man, was taken to the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Karoonda Hwy remains closed between Kulde Rd and Boundary Rd.
Police are advising people to avoid the area.
It comes after a man died after his car left the road and crashed at Carpenter Rocks, in the state’s southeast, on Thursday night.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Pelican Point Rd and Carpenter Rocks Rd after a car travelling north crashed into scrub about 11.30pm.
The 52-year-old local man and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
Major Crash officers flew to the scene on Friday morning to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
There have been 63 lives lost on South Australian roads this year compared with 40 at the same time last year.
