A 43-year-old man has died in a horror crash in Bordertown.

The local man passed away after his Nissan Navara ute crashed into a tree on Golf Course Rd about 8am on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the country town after a motorcyclist discovered the driver dead inside the car.

Major Crash officers attended the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash and to determine when it occurred.

Golf Course Rd remains closed between Finlayson Rd and Scott Lane while investigations continue.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the Nissan Navara ute in the area prior to the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The man’s death is the 37th life lost on our roads this year, compared to 50 for this time last year.

It follows a similar incident at Ingle Farm on Monday where a father-of-two died from injuries he sustained when his car hit a tree only moments after he dropped his wife at work.

Robert Taylor, 77, died while being transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital after being cut from his Toyota Camry.
