Man, 77, dies in car crash moments after dropping his wife at work
A heartbroken family has paid tribute to a 77-year-old father of two, who died after his car hit a tree in Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Sunday morning.

A father-of-two has died from injuries he sustained when his car hit a tree in Adelaide’s northern suburbs only moments after he dropped his wife at work.
Robert Taylor, 77, suffered critical leg injuries and had to be cut from his Toyota Camry before he died while being transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The Pooraka man has been remembered as a much loved and loyal mate.
“He had much more life and laughter to live,” his niece said in a statement to 7News.
“And that’s what hurts the most.
“We hope he rests in peace.”
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Belalie and Montague roads, Ingle Farm, about 6.10am on Sunday.
According to 7News a local resident rushed to the elderly man’s aid and reassured him help was on the way.
Shocked witness Jerina Kurbatfinski said the collision sounded like a “bomb”.
“I was lying in bed…all of a sudden I heard big bang and I thought ‘oh my god what’s happening’,” she said.
Another witness Michael Kupecky described the moment he felt the crash at his nearby home.
“It sounded like a long distance explosion and the windows shook and then I felt the house move a little bit.”
One lane for eastbound traffic on Montague Road was closed while Major Crash Investigation officers examined the scene.
