A western suburbs man will face court after allegedly trying to break into a home, stabbing two men and leading police on a pursuit.

About 10.30pm Tuesday, police received reports a group of men were trying to break into a Selkirk Ave home at Seaton by kicking the front door.

The men did not enter the home but allegedly smashed a car window with a hammer before fleeing in a blue Holden sedan.

Shortly after, police received reports of an altercation at a Ballater Ave property at Seaton.

When they arrived, police found two men hiding in the address with stab wounds.

They were taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after the incident, police spotted the Holden sedan seen at the Selkirk Ave home speeding on Grange Rd.

PolAir tracked the car along Grange Rd, Grand Junction Rd and Port Rd heading towards the city.

The car ran out of fuel on Emma St at Athol Park where the driver was arrested, with the dramatic moment captured on security cameras.

Footage shows police approach the man with guns drawn before an officer uses a baton to smash the driver’s side window.

Officers then drag the man from the car and pin him to the ground.

Witness Keith Smith told 7News he stayed in his home out of fear he might have been stabbed.

Police said the driver, a 38-year-old Seaton man, would be charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, property damage and two counts of aggravated assault causing harm and was expected to face the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police said the incident was not ransom and all parties were known to each other.
