Police are hunting for the driver of a ute after a woman fell out of it and was hit by a taxi in North Adelaide overnight.

A woman has been seriously injured after she fell from a ute and was struck by a taxi in North Adelaide in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A Mercedes ute was making a right-hand turn from King William Rd on to Sir Edwin Smith Ave just after 3.30am when a 21-year-old Greenwith woman opened the rear passenger door and fell on to the road.
The driver of the ute fled the scene, leaving the woman on the road.
A Toyota sedan trailing the vehicle managed to slow down, however a taxi changed lanes and ran over the woman.
Police and paramedics attended the scene and the woman was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers reviewed security camera footage and police are now appealing for the driver of the utility to come forward.
