Two senior members of the Rebels bikie gang have been booted from SA – and told not to come back – after being charged with associating with local criminals.

Two senior, national members of one of the country’s most infamous outlaw gangs have been arrested, booted from SA and told not to return – except for their next court date.

On Friday, Rebels Motorcycle Gang members Alex and Damien Vella faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court by video link.

Alex, 38, of Horsley Park and Damien, 42, of West Hoxton in NSW, have yet to plead to one count each of being present with two or more criminal organisation participants.

Court documents allege the offences occurred in Adelaide on Wednesday.

On Friday, Harry Patsouris, for the Vellas, asked they be released on bail noting prosecutors did not oppose such a move.

Police prosecutors – who did not outline any further details of the case against the duo - confirmed that was the case so long as “certain conditions” were included in their bail agreements.

“We ask that they are both to return to NSW at the next opportunity, and not to leave NSW for the duration of their bail agreements,” they said.

“We also ask they are not to return to SA except for court and that, when they depart, they do not approach any international departure area of any airport.

“We further ask they are not to make contact with any SA members of any declared criminal organisation and, specifically, with the Rebels.”

Magistrate Karim Soetratma released the duo on $1000 bail and adjourned their case until May, but excused them from attending on that date.

“I would think you would want to avoid them returning to SA unless absolutely necessary,” he told prosecutors, who agreed.
