Police appealing for information after woman struck by car and seriously injured on Anzac Hwy

Police are appealing for information after a young woman suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a car at Plympton on Monday night.

A woman has serious injuries after being struck by a car at Plympton on Monday night.

Just before midnight, police were called to Anzac Hwy after reports a pedestrian was hit by a car.

A 27-year-old woman from Adelaide, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital

The driver of a Hyundai sedan, a 20-year-old man from Gilles Plains, was taken to hospital where he had a sample of his blood taken and is assisting police with their inquiries.

Anzac Highway was closed but reopened at 2.30am on Tuesday while Major Crash officers examined the scene.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers online at crimestopperssa.com.au or call 1800 333 000.

It comes as a man was seriously injured after being struck by a car on the outskirts of the CBD near Fringe festivities on Sunday night.

Emergency services were called to Bartels Rd, Adelaide, about 10.30pm on Sunday.

A pedestrian, a 39-year-old man from Christies Beach, was taken to hospital.
