Shattered loved ones have wrapped their arms around the family of a 26-year-old aspiring medical worker after she died in her home, remembering her as a “bright star” and adored daughter.

Amy Bowden, 26, died at her Redwood Park home last week after her partner Ethan Ross allegedly injected her with methamphetamine in an attempt to save her from a heroin overdose.

Ms Bowden’s family, who live in Victoria, have been met with an outpouring of grief after her death, with dozens of friends and family sharing photos and tributes to their “brightest star”.

“A beautiful angel, loved so deeply by all who knew her. The brightest star in tonight’s dark sky will be Amy,” one friend wrote on Facebook.

Another wrote: “I can’t stop crying, you guys are breaking (my heart) – beautiful Amy.”

On Saturday, friend Jacinta Kirby was left in tears as she described the loss of her “beautiful, loving” friend.

“It’s just such a tragic thing to happen, it’s just so sad,” Ms Kirby said.

“(Ms Bowden and her fiance Ethan Ross) had been doing so well recently and this is just an unfortunate circumstance.

“I am heartbroken about this … she is just such a beautiful human being.”

Ms Bowden had moved to Adelaide from Melbourne in October, where she was studying pharmaceutical sciences at RMIT University, and had recently become engaged to Mr Ross.

A dedicated student, Ms Bowden’s LinkedIn profile showed that she was interested in pursuing a career in medicine after previously working in IT support, customer service, web design and development, data management and administration.

Ms Bowden wrote on her profile that she would “love any opportunity to work in a scientific role” in a company with “a strong ethical code” and that she was about to start her third year studying a degree in Biochemistry and Pharmacology.

Posts made to an Adelaide “girls group” on Facebook showed that Ms Bowden was looking for a career change at the time of her death and wanted to shift away from hospitality work.

Mr Ross, 27, was charged with supplying or administering a drug of dependence over Ms Bowden’s death and appeared at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Friday, where he was remanded in custody awaiting a bail report.

According to Mr Ross’ LinkedIn profile he worked as a DevSecOps Engineer at Qantas until early 2023, after completing a Bachelor of Information Technology at the University of South Australia.
