A man accused of multiple drug dealing offences has withdrawn a bail bid, with a court told he had tried to ask a woman to take the fall for new alleged offending.

On Wednesday, Neils Elgaard Kristensen, 48, appeared via video link in the Adelaide Magistrates Court where his lawyer said a fresh bail application would not being going forward.

The court heard acting counsel had recently been advised a drug trafficking matter had been committed to the District Court – but he had now breached bail for that matter.

The Ridleyton father-of-two was on bail when police allegedly located him with a range of drugs inside a stolen car on Sunday, January 19.

Officers allegedly found about 24g of methamphetamine, 5g of heroin, ecstasy, fentanyl, prescription medication and other drug paraphernalia.

Mr Kristensen was arrested at the scene by police, who then searched his home and allegedly found a further 100ml of ecstasy.

A 35-year-old woman who lived at the property was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled drug and possession of a controlled drug and will appear in court at a later date.

In court, Magistrate Patrick Hill noted Mr Kristensen, who remained silent, was also facing a fresh allegation of perverting the course of justice which could affect his bail application.

“I think the allegation is that he wrote to someone from custody seeking that she take responsibility for the new set of drug offending,” Mr Hill said.

Mr Kristensen is yet to enter a plea to seven counts of drug trafficking in a prescribed area, one count of drug trafficking and one count of unlawful possession.

Counsel for Mr Kristensen withdrew the application, but foreshadowed it could be remade at a later date.

Magistrate Hill remanded Mr Kristensen in custody.
